Adventures in India

Traveling to India is always an adventure. After meeting my sister at Mumbai airport, we got into her brand new car and started the long drive home at the peak of rush hour. 20 minutes later, in the middle of the motorway, our car broke down. As cars honked and swirved passed us, we sat in the hot sweltering heat reading the owners manual in the glove compartment. After several failed attempts to start the engine, our driver Dilip got out and flagged down 2 sketchy looking men on a motorbike. They popped the hood, conversed in Hindi, rummaged around at the engine, ripped out some bits and pieces (for some strange reason, I think these 'bits and pieces' NEED to be in there), started the engine, and asked for 250 rupees (~3 pounds sterling). Thank goodness the car started. We were starting to wonder how we were going to push the car through 4 lanes of rush hour traffic to the side of the road.
