My typical Friday night

After a busy week, I needed to unwind and get my mind off of studying. Last night, I started by meeting a friend of a friend for a quick drink. This is how the evening unfolded:
At 18:30 I found myself sitting at a bar at Suntec with half of the Merrill Lynch i-banking team in Singapore. A few hours later, some of these work-a-holics went back to work, others went home. I found myself now surrounded by finance people from Citibank talking about (and to) Singaporean women. This one girl in particular I now know by the following relationship: A friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend. Now in English: My childhood buddy Warren's, college roommate Melvin's, good friend Jeff's, work colleague Tim's, colleague. Phew! One degree short of the maximum 6-degrees of separation. At 23:30, I was up in a taxi heading for St. James Power Station to meet Sharon. At 23:40, I was in a taxi back to Suntec (the bouncer at St. James ousted me because he didn't like my opened-toed foot apparel). I somehow wound up at a Chinese karaoke bar listening to people screeching at the top of their lungs to "music".
