Leipzig

Back from Leipzig. The Bach competition didn't disappoint. There is definitely something magical about listening to the Bach Ciaconne in a church. In my opinion, it is the best work for solo violin yet written. Unfortunately, it is also fiendishly difficult.
I have to say, Leipzig isn't very accommodating for the non-German speaker. I had to resort to the old point, nod, and facial expression form of communication with my fellow pedestrians. Can't remember the last time I said 'just bring me whatever' at a restaurant. It's a good thing I'm an adventurous eater.
