Asia Society

Thanks to HDFC, I attended the Asia Society's 50th anniversary dinner last night at the Waldorf=Astoria. The society was founded by John D. Rockefeller III to promote greater knowledge and understanding of Asia. Amongst the guests were Lakshmi Mittal, Charles Prince, Lloyd Blankfein, Martin Sullivan, Tan Dun, and Uma Thurman. I, along with my sister and friends, felt quite out of place with these philanthropic big shots. Maybe one day I too will be able to have the influence and impact to make the world a better place. It was definitely an enjoyable evening, and a taste of what's to come.
